AventuraDivorce Attorney

Divorce and family-law representation for Aventura residents. Discuss property, parenting and support with GFC LAW’s Fort Lauderdale team, serving Miami-Dade County.

Divorce & family matters

A clear picture of the issues across households.

A home, multiple accounts, travel or an existing case can make the first conversation feel complicated. Start by identifying what is pending, what is agreed and what needs investigation.

Condominiums and other property

Describe ownership, financing, association costs and any rental arrangements. These details help frame the property questions beyond a headline market value.

Property and liabilities

Accounts and financial records

Identify the categories of accounts and interests involved, including those outside Florida. Ask how sensitive records should be provided securely.

Financial information

Travel and parenting

Explain the children’s current residence and routine, proposed travel and any existing orders. Flag an approaching move or other time-sensitive issue.

Parenting arrangements

Proceedings in another place

If an order or case exists in another state or country, mention it early. Do not assume a change of address answers the court-authority questions.

Interstate parenting questions

Flag cross-county and existing-case details.

  • The county, state or country of any existing proceeding
  • Property or accounts outside Florida
  • Current orders and any planned move or upcoming travel

Your first conversation

Know what to expect.

Start with a call or a consultation request. Our intake team will help you understand the next step and coordinate an appointment with Gary.

  1. Contact the intake team.

Tell us the type of matter, whether anything has been filed and whether a deadline is approaching. Please do not send detailed case narratives or confidential documents through the website.

  2. Discuss the issues with Gary.

Bring your questions and a broad picture of your priorities. Ask intake what to prepare and how any requested documents should be provided securely.

  3. Decide on representation.

If the firm can take your matter, discuss the scope of work, initial retainer and billing terms before engagement. Booking a consultation does not itself retain the firm to handle your case.

Aventura is in Miami-Dade County, near the Broward boundary. Our Fort Lauderdale address does not decide the appropriate venue. Start with the court and case number on any papers already issued.

Before you call

A few common questions.

Does living near the county line determine where I file?

Do not select a court based only on proximity. Tell us the relevant residence history and whether a case already exists so venue and any court-authority questions can be evaluated for your matter.

What if financial records or court papers are in another language?

Tell intake what languages and documents are involved. GFC LAW currently operates in English; confirm any translation or language-support arrangements before providing documents or booking a consultation. No other-language service is promised.

How much will representation cost?

Representation is a separate engagement. The initial retainer and ongoing billing depend on the matter and will be discussed before you decide to hire the firm. A retainer is not a promise of the total cost of a divorce.

How long could my divorce take?

Timing depends on the issues, financial information, cooperation between the parties and the court schedule. We can discuss the factors affecting your situation at the consultation; there is no single timeline that fits every case.
