Wendy’s career includes immigration and commercial law, third-party property insurance defense, and personal injury protection matters. That range of experience informs her work with individuals and families whose legal concerns can cross both practice areas and national borders.
As an Assistant Attorney General with the United States Virgin Islands Department of Justice, Wendy held special admission to the Bar and served in the Solicitor General’s Department. She represented the Executive Branch in criminal appeals and civil matters, advised agencies and commissions, and reviewed government contracts and legal instruments.
She also represented the USVI Government, its boards, commissions and officers in quasi-judicial proceedings, with a primary emphasis on wrongful dismissal matters.
Immigration experience. A foundation in dispute resolution.
Immigration
Wendy’s experience includes qualifying-relative sponsorship, cancellation of removal, waivers of inadmissibility and VAWA-related matters for survivors of abuse. The appropriate scope of representation is assessed for each new matter.
Mediation training
Wendy has completed Florida Family Law Mediation training. In Jamaica, she is a certified Parish Court and Supreme Court Mediator.
Cross-cultural understanding
As a Jamaican-American attorney admitted in both Florida and Jamaica, Wendy brings familiarity with the legal and cultural concerns of Caribbean individuals and families.
