A few common questions.
What should I raise about retirement and divorce?
Identify retirement accounts, benefits, expected income changes and any supporting documents. Ask about the information and implementation steps needed for your situation. Do not assume that two assets with the same stated value have the same practical effect.
Can I meet the firm at the South County Courthouse?
Our regular consultation process is coordinated through our Fort Lauderdale office, not a courthouse meeting desk. Contact intake to confirm arrangements. Court appearances, if required, are scheduled separately under the court’s instructions.
How much will representation cost?
The initial consultation is $200, waived for referrals. Representation is a separate engagement. The initial retainer and ongoing billing depend on the matter and will be discussed before you decide to hire the firm. A retainer is not a promise of the total cost of a divorce.
How long could my divorce take?
Timing depends on the issues, financial information, cooperation between the parties and the court schedule. We can discuss the factors affecting your situation at the consultation; there is no single timeline that fits every case.
