ParklandDivorce Attorney

Divorce representation for Parkland clients with important family and financial decisions ahead. Speak with GFC LAW about your priorities, from our Fort Lauderdale office.

Divorce & family matters

Bring the full financial picture into focus.

A property value or account balance rarely tells the whole story. When a divorce involves a home, investments or a business, use the consultation to identify the information and professional input the matter may require.

Home equity and carrying costs

Discuss financing, ownership history and the ongoing cost of a proposed arrangement. Keeping an asset and being able to sustain it are separate considerations.

Assets and liabilities

Business and investment interests

Identify interests that may require documentation or valuation. Describe the business structure and available records without sending sensitive financial files through the website.

Financial issues

Children and continuity

Consider school-day routines, activities, medical decisions and transportation alongside time-sharing. Share any immediate issues that need attention.

Parenting decisions

Terms beyond the headline number

Consider how proposed payments and asset transfers would work in practice. The timing, documents and obligations attached to an agreement matter.

Agreement planning

Identify complexity early.

  • The broad categories of assets, debts and business interests
  • Any premarital or postmarital agreement
  • Questions about valuation, liquidity and supporting records

Your first conversation

Know what to expect.

Start with a call or a consultation request. Our intake team will help you understand the next step and coordinate an appointment with Gary.

$200

Initial consultation
Waived if you were referred to the firm.

  1. Contact the intake team.

Tell us the type of matter, whether anything has been filed and whether a deadline is approaching. Please do not send detailed case narratives or confidential documents through the website.

  2. Discuss the issues with Gary.

Bring your questions and a broad picture of your priorities. Ask intake what to prepare and how any requested documents should be provided securely.

  3. Decide on representation.

If the firm can take your matter, discuss the scope of work, initial retainer and billing terms before engagement. Booking a consultation does not itself retain the firm to handle your case.

Before you call

A few common questions.

What if a large part of our finances is tied up in a business?

Tell us the type of business, ownership arrangement and whether financial records or valuations are available. The consultation can identify questions about value, income and access to funds, and whether additional professional input may be needed.

Do I need a complete valuation before contacting you?

No. Start with a broad description of the interests involved and the information you already have. Ask which documents are useful and how to provide them securely. The consultation is an opportunity to identify missing information, not to assume a value.

How much will representation cost?

The initial consultation is $200, waived for referrals. Representation is a separate engagement. The initial retainer and ongoing billing depend on the matter and will be discussed before you decide to hire the firm. A retainer is not a promise of the total cost of a divorce.

How long could my divorce take?

Timing depends on the issues, financial information, cooperation between the parties and the court schedule. We can discuss the factors affecting your situation at the consultation; there is no single timeline that fits every case.
